Mt. Olivet Volunteers

 

Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church has a long history of volunteers who quietly and effectively make a difference in our community. New members are always welcome. If you are interested in making a difference in your community and joining a group of dedicated volunteers, just send an email to Mt Olivet United Methodist Church and indicate the activity that you are interested in joining. The church secretary will notify the appropriate leader who will get back to you with an invitation to join their activity and the necessary details.
Bible Teaching Association
Mount Olivet United Methodist Church provides funds and any requested assistance to the Kannapolis Bible Teaching Association and the N.W. Cabarrus Bible Teaching Association to provide information about the Bible to local high schools.
Scouting programs for girls and boys are a long-standing tradition at Mount Olivet.
Cooperative Christian Ministries (CCM)
The Cooperative Christian Ministries is supported by a number of religious denominations to provide a central warehouse and dispersing service for poor and needy individuals and families.

Every first Sunday of each month the congregation of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church brings canned food, paper products or donations to be distributed to CCM in Concord or Kannapolis. These items are given to needy people who are screened for their participation as recipients.

We can make a difference in this world.
Habitat for Humanity
Mt Olivet United Methodist Church members have participated in the building of four Habitat for Humanity houses since 1993.
Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church has sent 6 to 18 members to Kenya, Africa on six different missions to construct buildings and gain better understanding between the two cultures
Mount Olivet has more than a dozen regular volunteers with Meals on Wheels.
Project AGAPE
Ministry to Armenia and to some of our most desperate Christian brothers and sisters -- is a collaborative effort of the North Carolina and the Western North Carolina Conferences of The United Methodist Church in a joint effort with the Armenian Apostolic Church.
The Society of St. Andrew
On Christmas Eve, Mount Olivet United Methodist Church collects money to send to the Society of St. Andrew which will provide many servings of food for hungry people through the ministries of the Society of St. Andrew.

Together we are bridging the hunger gap between the abundance of available food through gleaning America's fields and feeding America's hungry.
UMW Bazaar
UMW holds an annual bazaar on the second Saturday in November to benefits local and national mission projects.
Samaritan's Purse
Each year during October and November, we at Mount Olivet fill shoeboxes with toys, school supplies and toiletry supplies for Operation Christmas Child.
